I am like the vast darkness
Of forbidden secrets.
My mask is invisible to all.
I reach out-crying to be understood,
But no one hears.
I curse the walls that echo
My plea for understanding;
They respond with silence.
I stand in a black desert of loneliness
With every grain of sand
Laughing hideously at my groping for life;
It is in vain.
The last hopeless scream
Has been wrenched from my throat.
Now silence
